That was awesome indeed. And what a cool stunt to send a Tesla car out there.

I am interested in the Marco Polo device as well. I am appealed by it since it does not require gps to work.

I would love to have a 3-D model of The Rocketry Show Podcast. Would be a great way to raise funds for the show.

A few months ago, I made the suggestion of working with a kit manufacturer to create a "The Rocketry Show Podcast Aerospace Club" kit (similar to the ones offered by Estes and Centuri back in the day.) A special kit that could not be purchased, but only obtained by making a donation to support the show.

These could become collectors items, and something people would be proud of fly at club launches.

If someone decides to print these in 3-D and make them available, sign me up! Take my money!

I'm curious about the Marco Polo drone/rocket tracking system. During a show, Daniel mentioned that the unit had gotten pretty great reviews from HPR flyers who were knowledgeable about trackers. Not sure which forum you're looking at--but I'd love to hear more about it. On The Rocketry Forum (TRF) reviews have been mixed. See this thread:

Note, currently I'm an NAR member only, and don't have access to the Tripoli forum. Seriously considering a purchase of this tracker, even though I already have a TrackSoar (APRS), Big Red Bee, and Eggtimer GPS trackers. All are great, but much more complex than they need to be.

The simplicity of the Marco Polo system makes it attractive.

Anyone on this list have more experience with the unit? That would make for a great episode--maybe have someone "review" each of the major tracking systems out there.

After looking at the WSMC FAI items on dihedrals, they suggested this site which had a great resource program you can download for dihedral analyses:

 Getting TRA and NAR and others to work together for a National flight field/spaceport would be a great plan.

Just discovered the podcast and I am catching up quickly.  Really enjoying it.  I'm a Re-BAR, a lapsed TRA Level 2

I have a few show or show segment ideas for you.

A segment where you discuss current best practices or state of the art.  Without passing judgement on anything in particular, discuss, what has been happening in the various areas.  Maybe bring in an expert in the area for discussion?

* Fin attachment types
* Rails V. Lugs, etc.
* Deployment types, motor, pyro, C02, mechanical, etc.
* Airframe Tube types, paper, fiberglass, carbon fiber, etc.
* Recovery device Ejection charge protection (Nomex, baffles, dog barf, wadding, etc.)
* Discussion of nosecone types (The Wildman Von Karman option)
* Discussion of motor retention systems
* Capturing in-flight video, camera mount options.

Other ideas:
* Getting TRA and NAR and others to work together for a National flight field/spaceport.
* More interviews with vendors to see what is in the pipeline- PML, LOC, Madcow, Wildman, etc.
* Interview with Ky Michaelson (Rocket man) - he has wonderful rocket-related stories.
* If you could bring back a defunct vendor, which would you pick (I'd pick Vaughn Brothers Rocketry - for the record)
* How to use a deployment bag (an audio challenge)
* Is there a future for hybrid motors?
* Interview with PML or LOC on what it takes to achieve longevity in the industry
* Painting and finishing techniques - bring in somebody known for beautiful rocket finishes.
* Follow somebody through their level 2 or level 3 certification process.
* High power staging and air-starts

Keep up the good work.
